Position Summary:

As part of our Retail team, the District Manager for the Northwest district is responsible for creating a client experience that accurately reflects the ethos of our brand while building and maintaining strong store teams, client relationships and driving sales within the district. The ideal candidate is committed to client service, demonstrating a strong understanding of, if not passion for, the luxury, travel, fashion, and lifestyle markets. The TUMI retail environment encourages an entrepreneurial spirit, offering growth opportunities over time as we work together to increase sales, KPI’s, build client awareness, provide world-class service, and grow the brand.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyze KPI’s, reports and business trends daily, weekly, quarterly and yearly on LY and Plan.
  • Recruit and hire all Store managers; oversee the recruiting process in all stores while ensuring there is bench strength for all positions within the district.
  • Provide orientation and training to new Store Managers. 
  • Provide training, coaching, and motivation to store teams while monitoring staff performance.
  • Resolve individual store performance issues through coaching, development and performance management.
  • Conduct performance reviews and suggest merit increases based on company policy.
  • Verify and approve store payroll processing to assure accuracy of all store associate’s timecards.
  • Approve store schedules, work hours, days off and vacations within the limits of company policy.
  • Report and communicate information concerning personnel, merchandise and operations on a weekly basis to Senior Director, Retail Stores.
  • Conduct regular store meetings for the purpose of discussing sales training, product, policy implementation or changes, merchandising and visual guidelines to encourage an exchange of information and ideas.
  • Ensure merchandising follows the visual directives and guidelines.
  • Manage all client service complaints.
  • Supervise and maintain accuracy of price changes, transfers and daily, weekly or monthly summaries and records.
  • Audit all store equipment – register, LP equipment and alarm system.
  • Monitor and control expenses connected with operating the store such as, payroll, maintenance, supplies, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain a secure and hazard free environment.
  • Audit shipments, transfers and price changes for accuracy.
  • Oversee District to ensure stores are organized for store inventory on a seasonal or as needed basis.
  • Meet district sales plans for required growth and company sales increases.
  • Enforce excellent client service through emphasis on utilizing client books, thank you cards, attention to clients and development of staff.
  • Audit and manage sales promotion policies and programs.
  • Partner with corporate and store management teams and communicate with all parties regularly.
